It's True—Tornado Touched Down in Mt. Ephraim
The 70 mph winds caused some damage, but registered as the weakest tornado on the Enhanced Fujita Scale.
The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed what Mt. Ephraim residents already suspected—a tornado touched down in the Camden County town Tuesday evening.
NWS said the twister touched down at 6:31 p.m. as an EF0 tornado with 70 mph winds.
After touching down along the east side of Cleveland Avenue, the tornado, which left a 75-foot-wide path of damage, churned about 120 yards east-northeast, crossing Jefferson Avenue before lifting off before getting to Kings Highway, the NWS said.

Tornadoes are measured on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, from EF0 to EF5. An EF0 is the weakest tornado, with winds ranging from 65 to 85 mph.
Weak or not, the tornado touched off a firestorm of social media comments, with residents exchanging experiences and pictures of the damage.
