Pennsauken Man Killed in Camden, 39th Victim of 2013

Carlington Britton died a day after being shot on the northern edge of the city, authorities said.

A Pennsauken man who was shot in Camden's Rosedale neighborhood late last week died in the hospital Friday afternoon, Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk said.

Carlington Britton, 20, was shot near the intersection of 41st Street and Camden Avenue, near the Pennsauken border, around 7 p.m. Thursday night, Faulk said, and had been rushed to Cooper University Hospital.

Britton died at Cooper just after 4:30 p.m. Friday, Faulk said.

Britton's death is the 39th killing this year in Camden, which last year set a new record homicide count with 67 killings.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, Faulk said, and anyone with information is asked to contact Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Lance Saunders at 856-225-8513 or Camden County Police Detective William Frampton at 856-757-7420.
