Pillow Case Full of Jewelry Stolen in Haddon Twp.

The rear door pried open on the Fern Ave. home, police say.

A home in the 500 block of Fern Ave. was burglarized on Wednesday, Haddon Township police report.

A lock at the rear door of the home was pried open and jewelry was stolen from the master bedroom. The thief used a pillow case from the home for the loot. Police believe the burglary happened between 4:30 and 9 p.m. The incident was reported at 9 p.m.

"The Haddon Township Police Department would like to remind and encourage residents to contact 911 immediately if they observe suspicious activity or if someone is acting suspiciously in their neighborhood," a statement said. "We now have a solicitation ordinance in an effort to prevent individuals from knocking on resident’s doors, a common tactic utilized by burglars in an effort to determine if anyone is home. When in doubt, call us out."
