A Haddonfield woman allegedly lost control of her vehicle Saturday morning in downtown Collingswood, ran onto the curb, and felled a parking kiosk and a tree.

The driver said she had been attempting to park her car but that the brakes malfunctioned, according to Collingswood Police Chief Richard Sarlo.

Sarlo said that the impact knocked over a parking kiosk, the base of which must be re-seated before it can be returned to service. Another casualty of the incident was a tree, which could not be saved.

No one was injured in the incident. Sarlo did not say whether charges would be brought against the driver.

I've often felt like demolishing the Kiosks that have been installed in Haddonfield....they are a royal pain!

My thoughts and prayers to the tree that lost it's life many years too soon. This only further exacerbates the debate on whether or not women should be allowed to drive unsupervised.

And perhaps someone should take away reed rothchild's keyboard.

M.w. I agree. Ironically, his profile tagline is "common sense and class. get some". In many of his posts I fail to see either. But I guess it is easier to be snarky and without any humor when you are using an alias....
Reed Rothchild January 05, 2014 at 01:12 AM
Caryle? That's either an alias or you're a wanna be spawn of Gwyneth Paltrow. Your snarkiness & lack of sense of humor is ironically appealing.
caryle tracy January 05, 2014 at 11:20 AM
oh yes, that would be me... ironic with humor, and infinitely appealing.... ;0)

Reed. How is it classy to put down women?
Reed Rothchild January 07, 2014 at 09:42 AM
M.w, It was a joke, not a put down. I think that's obvious. Must've caught you at the wrong time of the month.
caryle tracy January 07, 2014 at 12:08 PM
Reed, you were doing ok until your last sentence...please get a clue here, or a couple of them. This is so unfunny for several reasons...
Reed Rothchild January 07, 2014 at 12:28 PM
Oh boy, do we have a case of menstrual synchrony going on here?
M.w. January 07, 2014 at 07:43 PM
No, just some solo misogyny. Also, why do you assume I am a woman?
M.w. January 07, 2014 at 07:44 PM
Also, reed, when you are making up a classy name, try to spell it correctly. There s/b an s between Roth and child. Just sayin.
caryle tracy January 07, 2014 at 08:51 PM
This is becoming just incredibly more interesting... part of the "unfunny" is the assumptions flinging around... that there are women menstruating and synchronizing... have you ever become aware that many people have independent thoughts and ways of looking at things Beyond Mainstream Cliches? I invite You to do so...life might just become smoother and more easeful and satisfying...

I feel really saddened that You have chosen to "become dumber in the room" based on what I have said...and that You have chosen a third party to say it... I wish You Much Abundance and a Good Life; Take Care and Be Well...Caryle
Reed Rothchild January 09, 2014 at 02:39 PM
Caryle, I highly recommend that you don't take yourself and especially the comments on websites so seriously. Most people, including myself with my initial comment, sometimes make completely ridiculous statements just for the sake of the reaction or their own amusement. Don't let complete and utter nonsense like this harsh your mellow by any means. The same goes for M .w. Yes, sometimes comments can be a productive place to have productive debates/discussions about various topics. This particular example is obviously not one of them...so don't "feel really saddened" or get worked up over something so trivial and way beneath decent members of society. Take care and keep those hands at 10 and 2 when behind the wheel when driving unsupervised. ;-)
M.w. January 09, 2014 at 11:28 PM
Reed, children do things for a reaction, for their own amusement, etc. adults converse. Please leave the past, and the bob hope jokes behind. Also? Harsh your mellow?
