Rash of Burglaries in Lizzie Haddon Neighborhood

Haddonfield Police report seven incidents of theft and burglary.

this week reported seven incidents of burglaries and theft, most in the Lizzie Haddon section of the borough, west of Kings Highway.

Three of the incidents were reported on Wednesday.

  • A burglary attempt in the 400 block of Westmont Ave. at 6:19 p.m. A rear screen door was discovered open. No entry.
  • Jewelry was reported stolen from a home in the 400 block of Westmont Ave. The resident said it occurred between 11:30 a.m. and noon.
  • An iPad and iPhone were reported stolen from a home in the 400 block of Mount Vernon Ave. at 12:45 p.m.

  • An "old broken" extension ladder was reported stolen from the side of a home in the 200 block of Kings Highway East at 10:37 a.m. on July 30.
  • A burglary attempt in the 400 block of N. Haddon Ave. at 6:43 p.m. An apartment resident returned home to find patio furniture broken and pry marks around a screen window. No entry was gained.
  • A locked car was reported stolen from a driveway in the 200 block of Wayne Ave. on July 27 at 12:47 p.m.
  • A resident in the 300 block of West End Ave. reported a burglary at 6:03 p.m. on July 26. The resident returned home and found her front door wide open, the bedroom ransacked and gold and costume jewelry missing.
  • A burglary in a home in the 600 block of Mount Vernon Ave. was reported at 9:56 a.m. on July 26. A $250 watch was reported stolen.
  • A university flag was reported stolen from a home in the unit block of Upland Way East on July 23.
