Rash of Overdoses in Camden, Prosecutor Says

It's the third time this year the prosecutor's office has warned of dangerous drugs originating in Camden.

Five people overdosed on heroin bought in Camden within 24 hours, prompting another warning about the drug from Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk Wednesday.

The heroin users overdosed between Monday and Tuesday, Faulk said, though he didn’t identify where in Camden the drugs had originated, out of concern for addicts seeking a more potent high. No one died in this round of overdoses, Faulk said.

It’s at least the third time this year the prosecutor’s office has warned of dangerous heroin in the city, and Faulk said law enforcement agencies are working to determine the drug’s source.
