Taggers Hit Pop Shop Window Monday

The gray-and-gold graffiti read "CMD" and "NIG" with a picture of a face. Police have no suspects at this time, and the paint came off with bleach.

Staff at The Pop Shop came into work Monday morning only to discover that its front window had been vandalized overnight.

Done in gray and gold, the graffiti depicts a face with the eyes crossed out, the letters "CMD" appear twice, as do the letters "NIG."

Everything came off with some bleach, said owner Connie Correia Fisher.

The intention behind the act is, at this point, unknown to either the business or borough police; however, Cpl. Tom Hartshaw said it was an isolated incident.

"There were no other reports of criminal mischief in the area," Hartshaw told Patch on Monday. He also was unwilling to speculate on any meaning implicit in the graffiti.

"We don't know the meaning behind the acronym," Hartshaw said.

Hartshaw said members of the Collingswood Police Department interviewed subjects in the area and gathered photographic evidence, but that they would also welcome information from anyone with knowledge of the case: 856-854-1901.

We've had a tagger in the area for years using post office labels. They do their "art" in advance then stick it on stop signs and anything else they can find. Look for the labels many are signed "KEEF". I had to Google keef but it's there.

I wouldn't laugh too hard, their presence (and other hard-core gangs) in New Jersey is growing at an incredible rate

I don't doubt the presence of the LK's in NJ at all--- i DO doubt they are tagging the pop shop window.
