Ted Stuessey Named Acting Chief of Haddonfield Police

Lieutenant Ted Stuessey has been tapped to be the acting chief of police for Haddonfield when Chief John Banning retires at the end of this month.

The 25-year veteran has risen through the ranks as a patrolman, corporal, detective corporal, sergeant, detective sergeant and lieutenant.

“I’m happy for the opportunity and looking forward to rising to the challenge,” Stuessey said. “We’ve got a great group of officers and there’s always work to be done.”

Borough officials also said they plan to name an acting lieutenant for Stuessey’s current position.

“We’re extremely thankful to Chief Banning for his years of excellence and service to the Haddonfield Police Department,” said Commissioner Neal Rochford, Haddonfield director of public safety. “We are also grateful to have Lieutenant Stuessey as our new Acting Chief for the Borough.”
