First of all I resent the implication by the mainstream media that there are 6 candidates. It is widely known that I have declared my intention to run and that I have endorsed Dr. Hoch for the role of Vice Mayor. Just because we don't conform to the establishment standards set by Ed Borden and his fat cat cronies is no excuse for excluding us from the debate.
I challenge ALL the candidates to a public debate where great American traditions such as freedom of speech and & the right to one phone call from jail can be exercised by a visionary leader unafraid to take on the tough challenges that lie ahead. The tax and spenders that dominate Patch message boards obscure the truth about how our tax dollars are being wasted. For example: 1.) Shade Trees: Did you know that we spend $3.4 million dollars annually to pick up leaves. I bet not! The tragedy here is that despite the arrival of Bacterial Leaf Scorch some people are proposing to plant NEW trees. Considering the Borough deficit of $237 million dollars, new leaves are the LAST thing we need. 2.) Turf fields: As Dr. Hoch has pointed out - Bird poop, beer cans, cigarettes and high heels represent a significant threat to the viability of this solution. Regardless of how environmentally friendly the turf fields will be, are we really willing to sacrifice our health and safety for a few more girls lacrosse practices? I for one am not! So... candidates please reply with a public yes or no to my debate challenge.

It's not turf it's plastics. Didn't anyone see The Graduate? This debate has been going on since the 60's.
