Kouba, 24, an owner and manager of the family Jersey Java & Tea coffee shop, explains why he is running for the Haddonfield Board of Commissioners.

The election, on May 14, features six candidates, including Kouba, running for three, four-year terms as commissioner. The three-member Board of Commissioners are the highest, elected officials in the borough.

Kouba is running against incumbents Ed Borden and Jeff Kasko, and challengers Lee Anne Albright, John Moscatelli and Neal Rochford.
