County to Conduct Emergency Repairs on Evans Pond Dam

The dam suffered heavy damaged during heavy and rapid rainfall on May 5.

The Camden County Department of Public Works is currently conducting emergency repairs on Evans Pond Dam in Haddonfield, the Camden County Freeholders announced Tuesday afternoon.

“The County has received approval from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to preform emergency repairs to damage that occurred on May 5 after a heavy and rapid rainfall,” Freeholder Ian Leonard, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, said.  “The area around the dam is currently closed to pedestrians, and will remain closed until the repairs on the completed.”

The repairs are scheduled to take place this week.  The exact timing of the project is dependent upon the weather and other factors.
