Common questions about voter registration:

Who is eligible to register to vote in Camden County?

You can register if:

  • You are a citizen of the United States
  • You are a Camden County resident 30 days before the election
  • You are a resident of the election district in which you expect to vote at the time of registration
  • You will be 18 years of age on or before the next election
  • You are not incarcerated, on parole, or on probation due to a conviction for an indictable offense under any federal or state laws.

What information do I need to register?

Under the federal Help America Vote Act, new voters registering for the first time are required to provide the last four digits of their Social Security number or their full driver's license number during registration.

How long is my voter registration valid?

Your registration will be valid indefinitely, if you have not moved from Camden County or have not been disenfranchised.

Do I have to declare a party?

No, but you can also fill out a party declaration form when registering, if you choose.

What happens if I move or change addresses?

  • If you move within Camden County more than 21 days before the election, you have to file a written change of address form with the county Superintendent of Elections.
  • If you move within Camden County less than 21 days before the election, you'll vote in your new town, ward or district via a provisional ballot.
  • If you move to another county more than 30 days before an election, you must re-register and vote in the new county. If you move to another county less than 30 days before an election, you may vote at your previous polling place in Camden County for only that election. You must then register in the county you reside.
