Voorhees Library to Show Film about Priest's View of Poverty in Camden

From a press release provided by the Camden County Library System to Patch.

The M. Allan Vogelson branch of the Camden County Library System will host a screening and discussion about “Poet of Poverty” on Saturday, September 22, 2012, 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend this engaging, community event, which will consider important policy issues with local impact.

“Poet of Poverty” is a documentary film exploring the experience of poverty in the City of Camden through the writings of a resident Catholic priest, the Rev. Michael Doyle. Among other things, Doyle argues that Camden has, over time, become home to sewage, trash and scrap metal processing facilities and is generally used as a dumping ground by the surrounding suburban communities.
