The Bulldawgs stayed on track to defend their Liberty Division title thanks to big performances against their primary competition last week. Playing under the lights at the football stadium, Haddonfield took it to West Deptford early and cruised to a 2-0 win over the Eagles, Tuesday night. Olivia Blaber and Courtney Lenny each scored.

Two days later, the Bulldawgs drew even with Haddon Heights, 1-1, to remain undefeated. The Garnets led 1-0 at half time, but the Bulldawgs tied it up midway through the second session when Emily Carson was taken down inside the penalty box and Blaber converted the ensuing penalty kick. Haddon Heights' only loss this season came at the hands of Haddonfield earlier in the year, so the Bulldawgs remained a game up in the division standings.

BOYS' SOCCER

It was an up and down week for the boys’ soccer team which earned a split against their chief rivals last week. Haddonfield opened the week by traveling to Webber Field to take on West Deptford in a night contest. Thanks to two goals by John Alemi, including the game-winner in double overtime, the Bulldawgs pulled out a 3-2 win. Alex Johnston also scored on a penalty kick in the first half.

Two days later, Haddonfield suffered its first loss of the season at the hands of Haddon Heights. Ethan Shultz made four saves for Haddonfield, but the offense was unable to put the ball past Garnets’ goalkeeper Jon Weaver.

Haddon Heights (9-0-1) now holds the inside track to the division title, with Haddonfield (11-1-1) a game back.

BOYS’ CROSS-COUNTRY

There was no catching Haddonfield in a quad-meet with West Deptford, Overbrook and Lindenwold. The Bulldawgs swept all three matches comfortably thanks to Greg Halla, who had the second-best overall time. He crossed the line in 16:46. Halla was hardly alone in the performance. John Greenberg, Alex Gigliotti, Patrick Shea, Austin Stoner and Dan Brennan each finished the race in 17:00 or under, forming a front pack that none of the other Colonial Conference teams involved in the meet could match.
