Teachers Set to Vote on New Contract

The Haddonfield Education Association is expected to vote on a new contract today.

The Haddonfield Education Association is scheduled to vote on a new contract today, union President Sharon Stokes said.

The vote will be held during school hours and should be complete by about 4 p.m.

HEA and school board officials reached on a tentative agreement nearly two weeks ago, breaking a 19-month impasse in which teachers and other district workers represented by the HEA worked without a contract.

Stokes said if the agreement is ratified, the board will likely vote on it during a special meeting Monday with the Haddonfield Board of Commissioners at the Central School. The public meeting is to update school board plans to purchase the Bancroft property on Kings Highway East.
