Haddon Twp. Girls Land Top Seed in Hoops Playoffs

The seeding was announced Friday.

Haddon Township will be at home for as long as its tournament runs lasts. The Hawks  girls basketball team (16-2) is the No. 1 seed in Group 1 and appears to have a clear path through to the semifinals.

Haddon Township opens up with No. 16 Camden Charter (3-12) with the winner advancing to face the victor of No. 8 Salem/No. 9 Wildwood.

The Hawks’ biggest challengers appear to be in the bottom of the bracket where No. 2 Gloucester City and No. 3 Glassboro lurk. Group 1 action is slated to begin on Feb. 26.

If Haddonfield is to make its appearance in the Group 2 playoffs more than a cameo, it will need to find success on the road. The Bulldawgs (11-8) are a No. 10 seed and open up against No. 7 Woodstown. The Wolverines (13-6) have played some of their best basketball in the last two weeks, winning five-of-six games.

The winner of that contest will take on No. 2 Middle Township, which received a bye.
