Haddonfield Baseball Team Falls to Northern Burlington in Diamond Classic
The Bulldawgs fell to Northern Burlington, 10-0, in the first round of the tournament on Saturday.
The Haddonfield High School baseball team fell in the first round of the Diamond Classic, 10-0, to Northern Burlington on Saturday at Overbrook Regional High School, according to nj.com.
Haddonfield was within two runs until the fifth inning, when Northern Burlington exploded for seven runs.
Haddonfield fell to 14-4 and returns to the diamond Wednesday at Haddon Heights, 4 p.m.
Northern Burlington improved to 17-3 and faces Pennsville in the second round of the tournament on Sunday.
The first place teams in the nine South Jersey high school baseball divisions earn automatic bids to the tournament. Seven teams earn at-large bids based on ranking.
Haddonfield qualified for the tournament as the first place team in the Colonial Conference Liberty Division.
