New Turf Field In Haddonfield, Big Win For The Bulldawgs

The Bulldawgs took advantage of a brand new synthetic-turf field to showcase their speed and power to open the football season.

Calling the new synthetic turf field at Haddonfield a fast track may be a bit of an understatement.

Just ask the Bulldawgs who rolled to a 47-6 win over an Audubon team that was clearly over powered by the combination of speed and brute force displayed by Haddonfield in its season opener. The ballers racked up 316 yards rushing, led by junior running back Mike DeFeo, with 112 yards on 10 carries. DeFeo's spotlight moments were a 52-yard touchdown run over right tackle and a blocked extra-point attempt to snap the momentum Audubon had after a 90-yard kickoff return at 11:36 of the second quarter.

It had been all Haddonfield up to that point, but the sensational Audubon touchdown return by Quashon Johnson nearly cut the lead in half at 14-6. But the blocked extra point turned out to be a game-changer. Haddonfield ripped off 32 unanswered points to seal the game and notch a win in the season opener.

The victory was aided by a new synthetic-turf field installed earlier this week. The fast track, despite a downpour before the game, allowed the Haddons to showcase their speed and power.
