Haddonfield Sports Roundup

The Bulldawgs look to capture state titles this week.

It was a hectic but eventful week to be a Haddonfield sports fan as football wrapped up its regular season undefeated, while boys' and girls' soccer, and field hockey pushed on toward group titles.

Football- The Bulldawgs wrapped up the first seed in the South Jersey Group 2 bracket with a 42-6 win over Woodbury on Friday. Chris Dengler had four total touchdowns in the win. Haddonfield is tentatively scheduled to take on Willingboro in the first round of the South Jersey Group 2 playoffs on Friday night.

Boys’ Soccer- The Bulldawgs advanced to the semifinals of the South Jersey Group II Tournament with a 3-0 win over Cinnaminson on Friday. Haddonfield takes on Middle Township on Tuesday at Scout Field at 2 p.m. If they win, the Bulldawgs will take on the winner of Haddon Heights and Delran on Friday in the championship.

Girls’ Soccer- The Bulldawgs stayed alive in the South Jersey Group 2 Tournament, beating Barnegat 7-1 on Thursday. However, Haddonfield’s perfect season came to an end on Saturday, with a 4-1 lost to Lenape in the South Jersey Coaches Tournament final. In state tournament play, Haddonfield takes on West Deptford on Monday at 2 p.m. at Scout Field.

Field Hockey- The Bulldawgs advanced to the finals in the South Jersey Group 2 bracket by beating Barnegat and Buena by a combined score of 17-1. The top-seeded Bulldawgs take on the three-seed West Deptford on Tuesday in the finals.
