Phillies Fans: Wanna Be a Ballgirl?

The Phightins are accepting applications for the program through Monday.

If you've got a love of baseball, the ability to be a community ambassador and aren't afraid of a line drive, you could be a Philadelphia Phillies ballgirl.

The club is hiring for the 2013 season, and applications are due Monday, Oct. 22. Interested parties must put together a resume and 2-minute DVD that highlights their experience across a variety of skill areas, including public relations, baseball knowledge, and softball.

Applicants must be at least 18 and willing to work "early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays" at more than 150 off-the-field appearances, from nursing-home visits to charity softball games.

Phillies ballgirls "represent educated, athletic and energetic women who hope to serve as role models in professional sports for young girls," according to the organization.

Those women who make the first round of cuts will be invited to a future tryout. For more information, visit www.phillies.com/ballgirls.
