What's Happening in the Haddons This Week?

We've got answers in the Week Ahead.

How could we not start with the fireworks?

The week will likely end with a bang no matter where you are in the Haddons. But why wait until the end of the week? Haddonfield gets the party started on Wednesday with its annual fireworks spectacular at dusk at the high school football stadium at 401 Kings Highway East.

The ongoing installation of an artificial turf field will not affect plans for the show. One detour revelers may need to be aware of is Hopkins Lane will be closed earlier than usual. The fireworks will be launched from the Hopkins Pond area instead of Anniversary Field next to the stadium field.

The sky will also explode in Haddon Township on Wednesday. Fireworks will be launched there after a concert at the high school stadium.

If you absolutely need to have fireworks on the Fourth, just take a three-mile trip down Haddon Avenue to Collingswood, where a fireworks show will launch at dusk from its high school football field. A great place to watch it is Knight Park on Collings Avenue.

Haddonfield and Haddon Township will hold annual Independence Day parades on Thursday. Haddonfield's starts at 10 a.m. on Kings Highway and Haddon Tonwship's starts at 11:30 a.m. on at the Municipal Hall on Haddon Avenue and leads to Crystal Lake municipal pool, where admission is free for township residents.

Other events this week include:

  • Tuesday, 9 a.m. at Cooper River Park in Collingswood: Middle Atlantic Yacht Racing Association Midweek Youth Sailing Regatta

  • Wednesday, 4 p.m., Westmont Farmers Market at Haddon and Stratford avenues

  • Saturday, 8:30 a.m., Haddonfield Farmers Market at Kings Court
