DO NOT GO. This is the 2nd time I've been here & the second AWFUL experience. We waited 1 year in between experiences. When we came in, the owner asked if we had a reservation cause they were busy (no one was sitting at a table). I gave her my name, the time, & #of people in party. She said, I don't have your reservation & I said well I called on Tuesday. She was accusing & kept questioning the reservation. With an empty tearoom & only 1 table set for approximately a party of 6, she proceeded to seat us in the worst possible spot in the way of the kitchen/bathroom entrance. We asked advice on teas & were encouraged to try new ones. Fine, but when my mother-in-law asked to switch her tea because they didn't tell her the tea was lemony, thye had the audacity to ask her to pay for a whole new pot when she hadn't even drank a half cup, only one sip AND we had just ordered the highest priced menu items to begin with. I asked for clotted cream over 6 times because the scant amount they originally served was the approximately size of a tablespoon total for 4 people. The sandwiches were underfilled compared to a normal british tea standard. We had to beg for our pots to have fresh hot water added when they got cold. This tea room is the only place I've been to with such a bad experience. The owner's nasty responses and high-handed attitude do NOT make for a relaxing experience. Nevertheless, her gift shop is lovely and amazing. She should just do that.

Such a nice place to eat and relax with quiet conversation. The owner and help were so very pleasant. The food was very good. I am telling all my friends about this shop.
This was a wonderful relaxing place. The staff was so pleasant. The owner was so pleasant and nice. You could tell that she loved what she did and how she made the guests feel like they were at her home. It was a pleasant experience. We will be back and we will tell everyone about this wonderful place.

I enjoy going to tea rooms to share a relaxed, enjoyable experience with a friend. Today was not the case, the food was average and the server was rude and condescending. A friend and I each had a cup of soup, sandwich, tea and a scone and the bill was over $50, not including tip. The soup was good, my chicken salad was dry & boring and a tiny fruit salad. My friend had the seafood melt, she asked what kind of seafood was in it, the person waiting on us rudely said, seafood, nothing further. When my friend asked if they made it, she said no, then said it was made fresh daily in town. My friend said it was ok, luke warm and served on very thin bread. The tea pots are small, unmatched lid and bottom. There is a choice of 2 non-caffeinated, herbal blends, I suggested they get some rooibos and the wait person glared at me. The tables are very small and right on top of each other, don't go if you want an intimate dining experience. They have a dessert sampler and when asked to see what it looked like, we were told no. Dessert choice was minimal, so don’t go for tea and dessert. The gift shop is lovely but all we wanted to do was leave at that point. When we went to pay, the same rude person said, do you want to add tip, we said we had left it on the table, she said with distain, you know you have to leave 20%, I guess because it was a special online deal. We were told we needed reservations, I can’t imagine why, we were the only ones there. No wonder the place is empty.
