Is the Catholic High lacrosse team so good because they have an artificial turf field?
Inquiring…Read More minds want to know.

Sue, you are funny! I think Camco has a turf field so they can use it all the time and not worry…Read More about the impact of weather or overuse. Hey did you know the Super Bowl next year will be in NJ.....on turf. Is that because the teams that will be in it are better than the Eagles....inquiring minds want to know.

Could be Sue, Could be. I will tell you that I was at that game and my son played on that field…Read More right after. The field is completely bare around the nets (crease) and at face off. In fact my son fell on his face after the face off tripping on the transition from bare dirt to grass. And no that's not why they call it face off but am glad he was wearing a helmet. Much of the game takes place around the net. As I mentioned it is completely bare/dirt. So, as the game is going on, with each step and scoop of the ball a thick cloud of dust is being breathed in and getting in eyes. Most of us moved to avoid the dust cloud rolling to the sidelines. Am I whining no, you know why? Because I stopped whining and supported the effort to do something about it. Once the turf goes in, it will alleviate some but not all overuse of these fields. Conditions will improve. It's not about making teams better, just safer but I think you already know that. We've discussed it. It might not be on your list of priorities but since you brought it up.....

I am so proud of the 308 local runners who ran on Sunday. Just running the Broad Street is a huge…Read More accomplishment. I guess it was a slow news week or something but I don't think their times needed to be published here in the Patch for all to see. Our community should focus on congratulating these runners as a whole instead of scanning the list for who beat whom. Way to go, 10- Milers!
Matt Skoufalos (Editor) May 8, 2013 at 09:14 pm
The community would only focus on "who beat whom" if the community chose to interpret the…Read More information that way. If you want to exult in their accomplishments, that's probably a healthier way to regard this information.
But a slow news day? When 308 members of a Patch town do anything, it's news.

Excuse me... so the river is all yours? I work, pay taxes and went to war for my rights, and yours.…Read More I pour every ounce of energy into EVERY day of WORK. So, on MY day off I can't use the river while you play on it? That is NOT what the law says... or the local COUNTY Freeholders, but yet again the public boat ramp was blocked for a bunch of rude arrogant stupid kids that continually litter the river.... The public was assured by the county that we would always have access. My taxes have not gone down by rowing on the river so I see no economic benefit at all, just a loss of public use of the river. And for what... Rowing... HA! Give me a break and get a life... kid.
