Haddon Twp. BOE Honors Albino and Caputi for Years of Service

Two BOE members say good-bye to board positions.

It was an emotional night for members of the Haddon Township school board during their monthly meeting Thursday.  Board president Mark Cavallo read resolutions honoring Charles Albino and Wendy Caputi during their last official meeting as members of the board. "It doesn’t happen often when board members leave," Cavallo said of the resolutions.  Albino served on the board since April 2006. He was unsuccessful in his bid for re-election in November. On the night of the election, Albino said “I looked at the position as one of service. I’m certain I’ll find something to do that is productive for the town.” Throughout his six-and-a-half years, the board dealt with unique and unprecedented issues. 2 New BOE Members, Obama Sweep to Victory in Haddon Twp.

Obama also wins in Haddonfield in unofficial results.

Two new Board of Education members swept to victory Tuesday, defeating an incumbent in unofficial general election results in Haddon Township. Four BOE candidates were on the ballot running for three seats. The winners included newcomers Marie Dezii and Jill Noller, and incumbent Robert Brown. Incumbent Charles Albino came in fourth. There may still be up to 400 absentee ballots still to count, an election observer said. The unofficial results, as tallied by the township clerk Tuesday, were Dezii with 3065, Brown, 3006, Noller, 2779 and Albino, 2613.
