At least two people were injured in the Haddon Heights fire as large house split into apartments was decimated by fire Saturday.
A smoky inferno Saturday afternoon in a three-story, Victorian house in the 100 block of the White Horse Pike in Haddon Heights injured at least two people. The fire, in a home apparently converted into apartments, was reported shortly before 3:43 p.m. At least one victim was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. The building largely collapsed from the intensity of the fire. The number of alarms struck and the time the fire was under control were not immediately available. Fire crews from all over the area rushed to the scene. See videos from the scene, witness the aftermath and hear what Haddon Heights' mayor had to say about the incident. New Jersey's local agriculture is on full display at Elements Cafe.
Farm-to-fork, or farm-to-table, is a restaurant trend that’s been surging in popularity around the nation for some time. I’m sure you’ve heard the term. It generally refers to restaurants and chefs using locally sourced food to create a menu that highlights regional homegrown flavors. From a PR standpoint, the movement also encourages restaurant-goers to seek out and support farmers markets, local green-friendly establishments and the like. The trend perhaps reached its nadir last year, when Philadelphia and the surrounding areas were swarmed with concept restaurants boasting locally grown produce as if they compelled by some legal obligation to do so. Some were good, others weren’t, and pretty soon, people got sick of the whole “farm-to-…

Three vehicles seemed to have been driven, one into the other, by a fourth that may not have seen that them stopped. No official police report is yet available.
A four-car traffic accident on the White Horse Pike Sunday afternoon sent two people to the hospital and two vehicles to a Runnemede tow yard. At least two of the vehicles were struck from behind at a dead stop, according to a pair of drivers at the scene. The driver of a third vehicle was transported from the scene when Patch arrived, and the apparent driver of the fourth car declined to comment. At the front of the line were Luis Moreno and his daughter Katrina, who had been traveling west on the Pike in their blue Nissan minivan. “We were going to church,” explained Katrina Moreno, 9. She stood at the side of the road in a white linen dress, clutching a small, pink shawl as she gave her account of events to police. A red light at Kings …

The Bulldawgs' strong fourth quarter sealed the deal against Haddon Heights Saturday.
One of the old sayings in sports is that it is hard to beat a team three times in one season. But don’t tell that to Haddonfield head coach Paul Wiedeman. “I feel like the only teams that say that are the ones that can’t get it done,” Wiedeman said. His team was able to get it done on Saturday evening, defeating backyard-rival Haddon Heights 56-43 on the road in a South Jersey Group 2 semifinal game. The Bulldawgs will take on two-seed Willingboro on Tuesday night. The winner takes home the 2012 South Jersey Group 2 title. “From what I hear they’re a very athletic team,” Bulldawgs senior forward Mike LaCantena said about Willingboro. “Very good team, tough. We’re going to have to shoot well. We’re going to have to take care of the ball …
