Turf Fields on Agenda at Commissioners Meeting

Commissioners were scheduled to introduce a capital improvements ordinance with money to install a turf field at the high school.

The funds are part of a $1.03 million capital improvement budget that will also repair roads and improve the front of the Municipal Hall at 242 Kings Highway East. The meeting was at the Municipal Hall. The turf field issue has been a lightning rod for criticism and debate. Haddonfield Sports Roundup

This week, Haddonfield will take on the winner of Monday’s Barnegat and Gloucester Tech matchup on Thursday in the second round of the NJISSA playoffs. They will also play the rescheduled SJCT final on Saturday …

It’s almost natural that a school that has had as much success as Haddonfield has seen plenty of sellouts and turned-away fans throughout the ages. Compounding matters, anyone who has walked through the doors into this gym, with its seating high above the floor and walls just outside the foul lines, understands that it doesn’t take much to fill the building. Now, add in a visit from Paulsboro and its 1,000-plus wins in wrestling, take into account that on Friday night more is at stake than just the Colonial Conference, and know that both teams are ranked not only in the top three of South Jersey but top 15 of the state and you …
