Saxbys Coffee in Haddonfield, Grand Opening Saturday

The specialty coffee shop is featuring promotional giveaways.

Saxbys Coffee is set for its grand opening Saturday in Haddonfield. Located at 104 Kings Highway East, in the former Yampell's Jewelers location, months of renovation is now complete. The first 10 people in line when the doors open at 6 a.m. will get free coffee for a year, according to a news release. On top of the free coffee for a year giveaway, every customer Saturday will receive free frozen yogurt. Its a shame theres really no on street parking where the store fronts on Chestnut & KH. The KH restriction makes sense, but I'm not sure why they restrict parking on Chestnut right there. The town should do the store a solid for investing so much $ and allow parking on Chestnut.   more ›

Out with the Old and In with the New in Haddonfield Business District

As three long-time businesses close, more than a dozen move in.

More than a dozen new shops have opened or are preparing to open in the Haddonfield business district this summer. The influx of new could help ease the impact of three long-time merchants going out of business. The three, Cabnet's, Yampell jewelers and Houshiarnejad's Collection Persian Rugs, had operated for a combined 164 years in Haddonfield. Some of the businesses taking their place include Saxbys Coffee, an upscale coffee house moving into Yampell's old location at 104 Kings Highway East. Summit Sampler, a specialty home furnishing store, will expand into Houshiarnejad's space. Prediction....a number if these shops will, I'm sad to say, be out of business within 18 months. I so miss the days when we had stores in town that caterer to the "less affuent" residents (bakeries, hardware store, etc) and not just the elites and tourists, but I guess that wouldn't suit the Haddonfield image. At least we still have the CVS and Acme.....for now.   more ›
