Viewfinder: Haddonfield Downs West Deptford Boys' Lacrosse

The Bulldawgs rebounded in the second half to beat the Eagles Saturday, 6-5.

After a back-and-forth, grind-it-out effort from both sides on a cloudy, chilly afternoon, Haddonfield's boys' lacrosse squad got the best of West Deptford, scoring the game-winning goal with less than four minutes left in regulation to escape with the 6-5 victory Saturday. Andrew Augugliaro fired home the winning goal from the top right side, capping a five-goal effort for Haddonfield in the second half, after the Bulldawgs were only able to score once against the Eagles in the first half. West Deptford, which got a hat trick from Zach Kaestner, had a 2-1 lead at halftime, but struggled to find scoring opportunities in the second half. Joey Diaco was an assist machine for the Eagles, setting up four of the five goals they scored.

VIDEO: Haddonfield, West Deptford Runners Race at New Balance Indoor

Haddonfield's Carly Bonnet and West Deptford's Samantha Budd took on top competition at the national race at New York's Armory.

West Deptford's Samantha Budd and Haddonfield's Carly Bonnet came in as South Jersey champions, and left among the top 40 runners in the 800 meters after competing in the New Balance Indoor Nationals at the Armory in New York City. Bonnet, the Group 1 champion, and Budd, the Group 2 champ, were slotted in the same Emerging Elite heat at the prestigious meet, facing competition from as far away as Long Beach, CA. Bonnet, who led early, finished just ahead of Budd, notching a 2:21.76—nearly seven seconds better than her South Jersey-winning time—to place 26th. Budd, who took a spike to the leg at one point in the four laps around the Armory's tight banked track, finished in 2:23.40 to take 37th. Check out the video above for the full race.
