Saint Francis Veterinary Center is an award-winning, AAHA-accredited specialty referral practice founded on the traditions of compassionate, ethical, expert medical care.

Home to numerous Board Certified specialists and other veterinary experts, our hospital bears the name of Saint Francis, the Patron Saint of Animals and of the Environment.

Saint Francis’ love for animals was known in his day and has become legend in the centuries since, and we draw inspiration from his life and example. Saint Francis’ humility toward the animal kingdom is recounted in the “Fioretti di San Francesco” (Little Flowers of Saint Francis), which is a collection of legends and folklore that emerged following his death in 1226 AD.

One such legend describes the ferocious wolf who had terrified the town of Gubbio. Saint Francis addressed the wolf, saying “Brother Wolf, I want to make peace between you and the people of Gubbio. The past is forgiven.” The townspeople realized the Wolf had merely been hungry and sick, and the Wolf realized the townspeople had only been afraid.

It is in this tradition that Saint Francis Veterinary Center was founded — to heal the sick, feed the hungry, comfort the timid, rescue the lost, and protect those among us who are most vulnerable… the animals who rely on us for care. Visit us at http://www.saintfrancis.org/.
