Missing Haddonfield Woman, 74, Returns Home Safely

Christine Howard, 74, of the 500 block of Westminster Ave., returned home safely Saturday morning after being reported missing on Thursday.

Howard, who has bipolar disorder, wandered away from her home shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday, police said. Her husband reported she returned this morning, apparently unharmed.

Howard said she was at the Camden County Library in Haddon Township near MacArthur and Cuthbert boulevards sleeping on a bench, police said. A borough police sergeant said they had previously checked the area during the search, but did not find her.

Her husband said she has disappeared many times before with their car, but this is the first time she left without one.
