Elizabeth Haddon Elementary Celebrates 100th Anniversary with Alumni Visits

It not alway a good thing when your mother comes to school, but it was this week in Haddonfield.

It's not always a good thing when your mother comes to school.

But it was anything but bad this week when Mary Perry, 83, mother of Haddonfield school Superintendent Richard Perry, returned to Elizabeth Haddon Elementary school 79 years after she started first grade here in 1934. The occasion was a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the school this week with alumnus like Perry talking to first-graders about what it was like to attend Lizzie Haddon in the middle of the Great Depression.
