No Charges in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on White Horse Pike

The Wednesday crash killed a 66-year-old man; he was struck by an SUV.

Charges are not expected to be filed against a motorist who hit and killed a pedestrian on the White Horse Pike this week, a Haddon Township police lieutenant said Saturday.

Lt. Scott Bishop said the investigation is not complete, but charges aren't likely in the fatal accident on Wednesday afternoon. The driver was not immediately identified.

The victim was a 66-year-old man who died shortly after he was struck by an SUV just after 4 p.m. Wednesday. He was in the westbound lane near the boarder with Oaklyn, apparently attempting to cross the street. He was not immediately identified but lived in the 1100 block of the White Horse Pike. Initial reports then said he had no pulse.

The maroon Chevrolet SUV that hit him had a massive dent in the front hood. An exploded jug of milk the victim was apparently carrying marked the spot of the fatality.
